How would a liar live his life?
Like he has to keep it inside all-the-time? From one lie to another to cover it up? Wouldn’t it be so hard remembering what was he said before, afraid that it would not match the last one? Wouldn’t he be worry that someday the truth would eventually showed up? What about the trust that been planted all these while?
I spent last weekend watched limited series of Harlan Coben’s in Netflix, currently onto the 4th one. Started with I’ll Find You. I loved the Fool Me Once. And currently on Stay Close. Why? Well pretty much just to keep me occupied. And no, not those romcom movies for this time being, thank you very much.
One silver lining though – the main characters are always a liar.
But they live their life as normal as like the rest of us.
HOW?!!?
Take a killer as our first exhibit here – for whatever possible reason, a killer is a killer. How would a killer live his life forever haunted by the face or the how he has killed somebody else? Now take a cheater – if love fades, why would he rather seeing someone else behind his partner’s back. Same goes with you – the someone he cheated with, why would you accept that you just the second option? Why were you hanging still while you are being lied to? Have dignity for yourself, you know you deserve better than that.
Why couldn’t one be truthful? Of what he felt, or what he thought, or what he did. Why are they not come forward and be honest, not until the truths reveal themselves?
Why?
As naive as it may sound, honesty is my non-negotiable.
I’d preferred swallowing one unmasked truth although it would choke me breathless, rather than have to live in lies – moreover by the one I trusted that much, whom tragically being the one chocking me all these times.
Like Joker once said –
It’s not the stab in the back that hurts, it’s when you turn around and see who holds the knife..
